The age-old art of glyptics brings the intriguing shapes of sea urchin shells, which were worn by the ancients as protective amulets. Expert artisans have meticulously carved deep-purple amethysts and vibrant green emeralds to create these tactile beads. Interspersed with round turquoise beads and white gold and diamond pavé orbs, the carved gemstones have been strung on a special wire using a technique similar to pearl stringing. The sautoir is secured by a bejewelled clasp that is hidden within the design.
