- Description
The Medusa Sautoir holds a true treasure of the sea – an incredibly rare opalised clam shell believed to be 140 million years old. The extreme rarity of this specimen means it is impossible for this design to be replicated, making it truly one of a kind. Turn the pendant over, and you can see and feel the true form of the ancient clam shell. The gold pendant holding the shell, with its organically shaped gold skirt and trailing ten- tacles, takes inspiration from the aurelia aurita jelly fish, also known as a ‘moon jelly.’ To compliment the opalised fossil’s play of colour, the pendant and chain have been brightened with multi-coloured sapphires, tsavorites and spessartite garnets in a mix of cuts and sizes.
